It is said some of Taiwan's steel plate distributors has purchased carbon steel plates from China mills around middle to late December by confirmed price US$550/MT CFR to Taiwan; the purchase quantity might be limited, but it should be still good enough for China mills.

China's trader said the new steel plate offer price in next January will rise US$5/MT to become US$555/MT CFR.

According to news report that Taiwan government will release new import license to local steel plate distributors around early January; therefore, some market participants expected the new steel plate purchase activity may increase in next January.
